The SMP-AM-xx is a 1RU modular chassis with 6 modular slots, 2 of which are reserved for the Network and Control output cards.  Audio input or output cards are available for the other 4 slots. Up to 2 independent dual output MultiViewer instances can be added to the 1RU SMP-xx frame. 

The SMP-AM-xx allows up to 256 channels of embedded audio to be displayed as international standard bargraphs with a choice of scales/ballistics and a Loudness display including BBC PPM, DIN PPM, Nordic PPM, VU, Extended VU and AES/EBU 

digital.

 

Audio Input Cards:
External audio can be input to the frame using specific audio 

input cards available in three formats:

• AIPxxA - analogue only audio input card (up to 32 channels)
• AIPxxD - Digital only audio input card (up to 32 AES/EBU pairs) with sample rate conversion for maximum flexibility
• AIP32AD - Analogue and digital audio input cards (up to 32 channels/AES/EBU pairs) 

Audio output cards:
External audio output is possible by installing AES digital audio 

output cards: 

• AOPxxD - digital output card that can support up to 32 AES/EBU pairs

Digital audio cards have twice the effective channel capacity of analogue cards because analogue audio is transmitted a AES pairs comprising two discrete channels (though these are often just the left and right stereo components).
